Saturday, February 21, 2026 | 3 p.m.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 15 N. Smallwood, Cumberland MD

In 2026, Mountainside Baroque board member Bishop Matthew Riegel, along with Co-Director, Lyle Nordstrom, will present another edition of "Chant-Along" on Saturday, February 21 at 3pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Fayette Street in Cumberland. “Chant-Along #3: Chant and More” will offer the chance to learn and sing Gregorian chant as well as exploring successor styles in the Middle Ages and Renaissance. There is no charge for the workshop though donations will be welcomed. Please plan to come be a part of this fun activity!

About the MBQ interactive events. Initially launched during the 2023-2024 season, Mountainside Baroque’s interactive musical events are designed to offer opportunities for those in our community to experience new skills in a friendly setting. Bishop Riegel, also a member of the Mountainside Baroque Board of Directors, will act a facilitator in exploring the history of Gregorian Chant, as well as providing an engaging opportunity to learn to read and sing this style of singing. Beginners are welcome as Matt’s humor guides them through initial easy pieces, followed by challenges for more advanced singers as well. It should be a fun, low-pressure group experience, aided by members of the Scholars of St. Cecilia (Mountainside's resident choir), who will also be participating.
