Lessons and Carols
Favorites Old and New
Sunday, December 18, 2022 | 5:00 p.m.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church
16 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD
Featuring the Scholars of St. Cecilia, Mountainside Baroque’s resident chamber choir, the celebration encompasses six centuries of Christmas music, including traditional carols, along with readings by local clergy and officials. Mountainside Co-Artistic Directors Ryan Mullaney and Lyle Nordstrom lead The Scholars. This favorite holiday tradition is not a ticketed event, but donations will be welcomed!
This year, special additional music will be included: Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Nativitatem Domini Canticum, a charming depiction of the Christmas story, along with instrumental Nöels for Baroque flutes, harpsichord, theorbo, and viola da gamba.
ART SALE NOTICE: The announced art sale is postponed until next year. Please still join us at the cookies and punch reception in the Parish Hall after the event!
Note: The current status on COVID19 guidelines includes recommendations for masking indoors. We encourage patrons to be up to date with vaccinations as well for the protection of all.
